Chapter 141 — Old Buffon's Origins

Years of Heartflutter Page 52 of 106

"Ah—what are you doing?" Before Sun Jie could finish, Yang Ce pulled her backward, and she fell flat on her back on the bed. Yang Ce bore down on her by force. Sun Jie struggled, but a woman's strength was never a match for a man's—especially not for Yang Ce, a perverted, monstrously strong killer.

Before absolute strength, all resistance is pale and powerless.

When you cannot refuse, then accept. Sun Jie closed her eyes and lay on the bed like a dead fish, paying no heed to any of Yang Ce's provocations.

Pay no heed—that was what Sun Jie told herself, but her body gradually began to respond. Though she clenched her teeth, the sensitive reactions of her flesh made her twist and squirm despite herself.

Sun Jie did not want to cooperate with Yang Ce, but sometimes not wanting is not enough to keep a thing from happening. She turned her back to him and lay on the bed, and it was impossible to tell whether she was asleep or pretending.

Yang Ce held Sun Jie from behind, somewhat regretting what he had done. He had been too reckless. Thinking over his behavior just now, it amounted to forcing Sun Jie, no less. She had said nothing, but any girl in her place would have been left feeling awful.

"Are you angry?" Yang Ce asked softly.

Sun Jie said nothing, but Yang Ce's keen instincts caught the faint movement of her body.

"Be my woman," Yang Yanzhou said.

Sun Jie sighed lightly, then said flatly, "Let's sleep. I don't want to talk about this now. The way you go about things makes me think your character is very poor. I should give our relationship some serious thought."

Yang Juehuan's heart turned cold. Sun Jie's thinking really was different from other women's—even at a time like this, she could still consider the matter so calmly.

"I'm sorry," Yang Moyi said with some guilt.

"Forget it. Last time I'll count as having forced myself on you. This time, we're even," Sun Jie said indifferently.

But the more Sun Jie said it like that, the worse Yang Juehuan felt. He could not help but curse those online y—posts in his heart: who was it that said once you push a woman down, you can push her down a second time? They all said the more you push, the better the relationship gets. So why was his getting more tense the more he pushed?

Though Sun Jie said that, the one thing that made Yang Ce feel lucky was that Sun Jie had not refused to let him hold her as she slept. That showed Sun Jie had not yet thoroughly come to hate him.

The next morning, what Yang Ce had not expected was that Sun Jie was just as usual, not mentioning the previous night's events at all. With a perfectly normal expression, she got dressed and went downstairs together with Yan.

Yang Ce even thought Sun Jie was no longer going to hold him accountable, but Yang Jiyan was wrong. During breakfast, Sun Jie said on her own: "Dad, Mom, Yang Ce has a few things at home. He'll be heading back in a bit."

Hearing Sun Jie's words, Yang Xu stared wide-eyed at Sun Jie—was she chasing him out?

"Little Yang, in such a hurry?" Mother Sun looked at Yang Ce with some surprise.

"Oh, there really are a few urgent things over there to deal with," Yang Moyi said, somewhat awkwardly.

"I see. But there's no need to rush like that, is there?" Mother Sun said, somewhat reluctant to let him go. "Why don't you leave after dinner?"

"Yang Ce probably does have things to do," Sun Lin spoke up instead. "Real business comes first." After saying that, he even gave Yang Puqi a look that said 'I understand.'

Yang Ce broke out in a sweat. Sun Lin had clearly misunderstood him, thinking he was eager to get back to handle affairs in Jidun City, and so of course approved.

Yang Ce glared at Sun Jie, only to find she was not looking at him at all, so he said helplessly, "I'll head back after breakfast."

Since Sun Jie had no feelings for him, Yang Shuoxuan had no way to force it. After breakfast, he said goodbye to Sun Lin and Mother Sun, and then prepared to leave. But unexpectedly, just as he was about to go, Sun Jie said, "I'll go with you. It's time I returned to Songjiang."

"Ah?" Yang Ce looked at Sun Jie in surprise, but could catch no expression at all on her face.

"There are still matters at the company to handle. Don't read too much into it," Sun Jie said calmly.

"Then let's go." Yang Ce sighed and said, "Are you driving?"

"No. My car's been taken in for maintenance. It'll be delivered to Songjiang after I get back." Sun Jie pulled open the passenger door of the BMW, got in, and said, "I'm here to mooch a ride."

"Then let's go." Seeing Sun Jie's utterly serious manner, Yang Juehuan's mood sank a little too.

"Still angry with me?" Yang Ce drove with one hand while the other unconsciously came to rest on Sun Jie's thigh again.

"I already said we're even. What would I be angry about?" Sun Jie shook her head.

Thank goodness Sun Jie had not moved his hand away. Yang Lanxu vaguely felt that there might still be a turn in the situation. He did not know why Sun Jie would not accept him now, but at least she was not rejecting him too strongly.

"Then why did you suddenly chase me back to Songjiang?" Yang Moyi asked, somewhat unconvinced.

"It's for your safety, of course," Sun Jie said with some irritation, shooting Yang Puqi a glare. "Yesterday I was trying to talk to you about serious matters, and what do you do? You go and do something unserious."

Yang Ce gave a dry laugh. He remembered too that yesterday Sun Jie had been talking about him hitting Ouyang Junyuan, so he said awkwardly, "What does that have to do with my safety?"

"If my guess is right, this time the Ouyang family will very likely pin this debt on you," Sun Jie said, having recovered her usual calm. "Just as I said yesterday, the Ouyang family wants to move against the Sun family—that's impossible, unless they want both sides to suffer. But if they don't take revenge for this, they definitely won't let it go. So, weighing the pros and cons, rather than targeting the whole Sun family, it's better to target you, the culprit who struck the blow. They can't do it openly, so they'll very likely come at you in secret. And that way, you're in danger. I don't know if you're truly stupid or just pretending, but my having you leave Donghai is also because I don't want their people to find you."

"Ah?" Yang Puqi was stunned. He had not expected Sun Jie to be chasing him away not because of how he had treated her yesterday, but out of concern for his safety, which made a wave of warmth rise in his heart. "So you really do care about me after all."

"You stepped up for my sake. If it were anyone else, I'd care too," Sun Jie said, giving him no face at all.

"As long as it's not because of last night that you're chasing me away," Yang Ce said, relieved.

"Don't mention last night again. Just this once," Sun Jie said, shaking her head. "I don't know what you're thinking. Having my body but not my heart—what good is that?"

Yang Lanxu was startled. He pressed his lips together and said nothing more. But from Sun Jie's tone, he could hear a faint trace of disdain.

"Rest assured, you'll fall in love with me," Yang Moyi said, somewhat unconvinced. His macho pride was acting up again. Sun Jie's contempt made him very unhappy.

"Is that so? I don't even know what I myself am thinking, and you can predict my future?" Sun Jie smiled.

"Then let's wait and see," Yang Duo said confidently.

"Fine. Then I really will wait and see," Sun Jie said, turning her head to look at Yang Ce. "I want to see just what about you, a little boy, attracts me, enough to make me fall in love with you. Being good in bed alone won't do."

Yang Xu broke out in a sweat inside, though he also felt quite comfortable. From what he knew of Sun Jie, she only acted this freely in front of him. And once the fact of having pushed her down first was established, Yang Duo was still confident he could make Sun Jie fall in love with him.
