Chapter 73 — The Killer Returns

Years of Heartflutter Page 2 of 2

Vicious as Wu Ming's moves were, Hou Lin was no weakling either. Though he couldn't attack, his defense was sufficient, and Wu Ming was beginning to grow secretly anxious.

His identity was one that could not bear the light of day to begin with. If the fight dragged on and drew the police, he would be in real trouble—so by now Wu Ming had already begun to entertain thoughts of retreat and was no longer inclined to keep tangling with Hou Lin.

Wu Ming felt a pang of regret. It was all his own fault for being so arrogant back then: seeing that Black Rat and Edge Blade had both failed their missions, he had volunteered to Black Widow and insisted on taking this task himself. He had never imagined he would be the one to come running here and make a fool of himself.

Yang Jiyan furrowed his brow. Wu Ming's skills were very similar to those of Black Rat and Edge Blade—clearly they came from the same lineage. If Wu Ming were captured, perhaps many things could be clarified.

At this thought, Yang Ce conceived the idea of keeping Wu Ming alive. He had originally been counting on Hou Lin to hold the man down, but now it seemed that was impossible; it would be good enough if Hou Lin escaped without injury.

Yang Lanxu hesitated for a while, wondering whether he ought to act. If he did, there would be no hiding the fact that he knew martial arts, and his identity as an assassin would be as good as revealed.

To be continued.
