"Oh?" Wei Zhao blinked in mild surprise.

"She said when she got up this morning she found her car was almost out of gas, just a little left, not enough to get to school, so she wanted you to pick her up..." Tang Yun said, shaking her phone. "Xiaoxiao just called me."

"Isn't there a gas station right outside her place?" Wei Zhao said, torn between laughter and exasperation at Feng Xiaoxiao's excuse.

"You knew all along she was lying?" Wei Zhao asked with a smile.

"Mm... she admitted it..." Tang Yun smiled as well. "You won't blame me for not telling the truth, will you?"

"No." Wei Zhao shook his head. Knowing Tang Yun, with Feng Xiaoxiao in her present condition, of course she would want to make her happier, so teaming up with her to fool him a little was only natural.

But Feng Xiaoxiao's face turned red in an instant. Clever and mischievous as she was, she could lie without blinking when teasing other people, but now that the person before her was Wei Zhao, she felt utterly mortified!

"So there's a gas station here? I never knew! I'll come fill up here tonight too." Feng Xiaoxiao said, pretending she had just discovered it. "Hubby Wei Zhao, you're amazing, finding a gas station on a tiny street like this!"

"Oh, I saw a gas station receipt in your car with this address on it, so I remembered it." Wei Zhao said.
