Chapter 1303 — Order Whatever You Want

The Blossom Guardian

"Fine, then. Let's go." Wei Zhao nodded.

Zhao Fafa had not expected Wei Zhao to be so agreeable. Overjoyed, he hurried to lead the way with Wu Liuqi, and together with Wei Zhao they left the school grounds.

They had barely reached the school gate when Zhao Fafa discovered a parking ticket stuck to his car. The area outside the gate was a no-parking zone; Wei Zhao always left his car on the snack street behind the school, and certainly would not have parked it here.

Zhao Fafa was rather put out. It was not a matter of the fine but of face: with Wei Zhao standing right there, having a ticket slapped on his car made him lose face, as though he did not know the rules at all.

"Brother Fa, who stuck this little ad on your car?" Wu Liuqi, seeing the sour look on Zhao Fafa's face, guessed his thoughts at once. He ran over, tore the ticket off as though it were a flyer, and tossed it onto the ground.

Wei Zhao had long since made out what the slip was, but he could not be bothered to expose their little performance.

"Liuqi, mine's a sports car, it only seats two. Why don't you take a taxi and follow behind?" Zhao Fafa said, turning his head.

"Sure, no problem!" Wu Liuqi's chief aim was to ingratiate himself with Zhao Fafa. He knew Zhao Fafa had struck it rich and had a very, very formidable relative, so the meal itself was a trifle—his own family was well off and a dinner was no burden—the point was to curry favor with Zhao Fafa.

Seeing Wei Zhao get into his car like a fool, and alone at that, Zhao Fafa was delighted. The boy really was a simpleton, actually believing he meant to treat him to dinner! Dumb as a brick! Wait until Sun Xiaoxing brought his men into the private room—that would scare him witless!

Sun Xiaoxing had chosen the finest place nearby, the Overlord Fish Seafood Pavilion, one of the most expensive restaurants in Songshan City, no cheaper than the Starlight Splendor Hotel.

Zhao Fafa parked in front of the Overlord Fish Seafood Pavilion, and he and Wei Zhao went inside.

"Welcome!"

The moment the three of them stepped through the door, a waitress bowed politely in greeting. One could see at once that the service here was first-rate; the looks and stature of the staff alone told you this was a place of no small class. And the decor was not a shade inferior to the Starlight Splendor Hotel.

Wei Zhao had never been here before, but he had heard Feng Xiaoxiao mention it. The girl had always wanted to come and eat a proper feast, only she had never had the money, nor the chance. That he had not brought Feng Xiaoxiao along today was rather a pity.

One of the great pleasures of Feng Xiaoxiao's life was good food—perhaps because every day she ate was one day less of eating. So she knew the famous restaurants of Songshan City like the back of her hand and remembered them all clearly.

"Room 588!" Zhao Fafa said grandly to the waitress. "We have a reservation!"

"Is it booked under Mr. Sun? Please follow me, all three of you," the waiter said after checking his PDA.

The advanced device in the waiter's hand was itself an indirect measure of the establishment's class.

When Wei Zhao, Zhao Fafa and Wu Liuqi entered the private room, Sun Xiaoxing was already waiting inside, though his men had not yet arrived.

Zhao Fafa meant to let Wei Zhao finish ordering, then eat and chat a while, and only after that bring Sun Xiaoxing's men in to give him a fright. If they appeared too early, he feared Wei Zhao would lose his nerve and stop ordering, and then there would be no fun left in the scare.

"Brother Fa, you've come!" Sun Xiaoxing rose to his feet and said respectfully.

"Mm. This is Wei Zhao, the guest of honor at today's meal!" Zhao Fafa pointed at Wei Zhao and shot Sun Xiaoxing a meaningful look.

"Wei Zhao, welcome!" Sun Xiaoxing understood at once. He had done this more times than he could count. "You're the guest, so you do the ordering!"

With that, Sun Xiaoxing handed the menu to Wei Zhao and let him choose.

"Oh, all right." Wei Zhao had no idea what Zhao Fafa was scheming, but he did not care either. He took the menu and began leafing through it.

The prices here were anything but cheap; some were absurdly high. Like Feng Xiaoxiao, Wei Zhao took up the menu and began to order, deliberately picking the most expensive dishes. Even knowing Zhao Fafa had money, he had made up his mind to fleece him once.

Without his noticing, Wei Zhao had been quietly reshaped by Feng Xiaoxiao's ways. Otherwise, with the temperament he once had, he would never have come out to eat with Zhao Fafa at all—he would simply have seized him by the collar and thrown him down from the upper floor.

Seeing Wei Zhao so "savvy" as to order so many costly dishes, Zhao Fafa's face broke into a broad grin. Earlier he had worried Wei Zhao would not order the pricey things, and had been wondering how to coax him into choosing more of the valuable fare.

Only that way could he achieve his aim of making Wei Zhao pay the bill and cheat him out of a sum. Yet Wei Zhao had beaten him to it, ordering all those delicacies. It seemed the boy really was a bit dim, still unaware that he himself would be footing the bill for this meal.

"That's all I'll order. Would you two like to add anything?" Wei Zhao handed the menu back to Zhao Fafa and asked.

Zhao Fafa glanced at Wei Zhao's order: the boy had chosen nearly two hundred thousand yuan' worth of seafood delicacies, which pleased Zhao Fafa greatly. His family was rich and he drove a sports car, but his monthly allowance was about that much, and he would never have been willing to spend it all on a single meal.

"Xiaoxing, Liuqi, you two order some more! It's my treat, don't be shy—just pick the expensive ones!" Zhao Fafa handed the menu to Sun Xiaoxing and Wu Liuqi.

"All right, thanks, Brother Fa. Then I won't stand on ceremony!" Sun Xiaoxing took the menu with a knowing air and, in a haphazard flurry, added another hundred thousand yuan or more of dishes. Sun Xiaoxing's family was nothing like Zhao Fafa's or Wu Liuqi's; his family had no money to speak of. Every month Zhao Fafa gave him a fixed fifty thousand yuan for his work on the streets, but how could he bear to spend it on a grand meal? That money went to recruiting underlings. So with such a chance to eat his fill, how could he let it slip away?

He deliberately ordered expensive things, the high-grade seafood he could never ordinarily get, planning to gorge himself later.

When Sun Xiaoxing was done, Wu Liuqi took the menu as well, but he did not order much; he simply told the waiter to bring another portion of everything Sun Xiaoxing had asked for.

"Is that all? Don't be polite—whatever you'd like, just order it!" Seeing how well the two of them played along, Zhao Fafa was beside himself with joy. Excellent—they had ordered nearly five hundred thousand yuan' worth of dishes in one go. Let Wei Zhao have a headache when the bill came! Let's see how he pays!

"That should be about enough, no?" Sun Xiaoxing felt this was already plenty. What if they ordered too much and Wei Zhao could not pay?
