Chapter 647 — The Joyous Zhong Yongliang Family

The Blossom Guardian

"Son, I've got two pieces of tremendous news for you!" Zhong Fabai said excitedly.

"Huh? What good news? And two of them?" Zhong Yongliang could hear the excitement in his father's voice too, but he could not imagine what news could excite his father to such a degree—and two pieces of it at that?

"Son, the first piece of good news is that you'll soon be able to restore your manhood. Young Master Bing put in a word with An Jianwen, and An Jianwen has found you a suitable kidney donor! I'm on my way to the school to pick you up right now and take you for the transplant!" Zhong Fabai said excitedly.

"I have a kidney? I finally have a kidney again?" Zhong Yongliang nearly dropped his phone. "Dad, did I hear that right? I'm about to become a whole man again?"

"You heard right! I'm already on the road to pick you up from school!" Zhong Fabai said. "So you see, son, that poison you took wasn't for nothing. We work for Young Master Bing, and he truly looks out for us subordinates—the kidney came through just like that!"

"Great! I'll go wait at the school gate right now!" Heedless of Gao Xiaofu's astonished look, Zhong Yongliang ran straight for the school gate.

"Wait, son, that's only the first piece of good news—there's another one!" Fearing Zhong Yongliang would hang up, Zhong Fabai hurried on. "The second is even better than the first!"

"More good news? What could be better than that?" Zhong Yongliang was taken aback. As he saw it, getting a matching kidney and restoring his manhood was the best thing that could possibly happen—how could anything be better?

"Heh heh, the news is this: the kidney you're getting is Wei Zhao's!" Zhong Fabai burst out laughing. "Wei Zhao has been captured by An Jianwen, and by sheer coincidence, his kidney happens to be a match for you!"

"Bwahahaha!" Zhong Yongliang roared with laughter, nearly laughing himself to tears. "Now that's good news—the best news there is! Wei Zhao's kidney is going to me? That's fantastic! From now on, every time I chase a girl, I'll think of how Wei Zhao made his contribution to me!"

"Then wait for me—I'm on my way to the school to pick you up!" Zhong Fabai was delighted to see his son so happy.

Gao Xiaofu chased after Zhong Yongliang out of the school, rather baffled. Seeing Zhong Yongliang laughing so joyfully, he waited until the call ended and finally could not help asking, "Brother Liang, what's with you? Why are you laughing so happily?"

"Haha, you have no idea!" Zhong Yongliang hung up, still beside himself with joy. "Xiaofu, I'm going to have a kidney again soon! My dad called—he's already found a suitable donor, and I'm about to get the transplant!"

"Ah! Then congratulations, Brother Liang!" Gao Xiaofu said hurriedly upon hearing the news.

"Yeah, I'm about to restore my manhood—let's see if those people still mock me for having only one kidney!" Zhong Yongliang nodded. "And there's another piece of good news: guess whose kidney is going to me?"

"Whose?" Gao Xiaofu had been standing too far away earlier and had not caught the phone conversation between Zhong Yongliang and Zhong Fabai.

"Haha, it's Wei Zhao's!" Zhong Yongliang said excitedly. "Wei Zhao's kidney is going to me—now isn't that a joy?"

Gao Xiaofu was dumbstruck. But once he recovered, he and Zhong Yongliang dissolved into laughter together. It really was a joy...

Wei Zhao had been changed into a hospital gown. An Jianwen dismissed all the medical staff and personally wheeled Wei Zhao toward the operating room.

"Wei Zhao, you didn't expect this, did you? You're about to have your kidney cut out, and the funniest part is, your kidney is going to be transplanted into Zhong Yongliang!" In the operating room's prep room, An Jianwen looked at Wei Zhao, who was about to be carved up at will, and could not resist taunting him.

"Yes, I didn't expect it. Never imagined it," Wei Zhao said.

"It doesn't matter that you never imagined it—you're about to have your kidney cut out... Gah?" An Jianwen nearly jumped out of his skin. Why was Wei Zhao talking? Wasn't he unconscious? Had he started hearing things?

Just as An Jianwen was about to check whether his ears were playing tricks on him, he saw Wei Zhao sit up from the stretcher, looking at him with a half-smile...

"You... you... how did you wake up?" By now An Jianwen finally understood that he had not been hearing things—otherwise he could hardly be seeing things as well, could he? Wei Zhao really was awake!

"I was never unconscious," Wei Zhao said with a shrug.

"Impossible! I put knockout drops in the wine myself—how could you not have passed out?" As An Jianwen spoke, his body slowly edged toward the wall on the other side, where there was an emergency response button!

Though Wei Zhao had woken up, An Jianwen was only somewhat surprised, not nervous—because in the headquarters of the kidney-harvesting ring, he did not believe Wei Zhao could stir up any trouble. Once he pressed that button, the prep room would instantly fill with knockout gas. It had been designed precisely to prevent a kidney victim from suddenly turning violent; it had simply never been used.

"Your question is a bit stupid. However you didn't pass out, that's how I didn't pass out," Wei Zhao said.

"I have an antidote!" An Jianwen was glad to stall for time with Wei Zhao; he was inching toward that wall bit by bit.

"Yes, you're right." Wei Zhao nodded. "You had an antidote on you. I took it and ate it."

"Gah?" An Jianwen suddenly remembered: while they were drinking, Wei Zhao had indeed come close to him once and patted him a few times. Could that have been when he stole the antidote?

"All right, don't waste your thoughts on pressing that button. Get on the operating table and receive your kidney transplant!" With that, Wei Zhao nimbly sprang up from the stretcher and brought a knife-hand down on An Jianwen's neck. An Jianwen did not even manage a grunt before he passed out cold.

Wei Zhao had excellent control over his strength—he could not kill An Jianwen, but An Jianwen would not wake up for a good while. Wei Zhao then casually pressed and kneaded a few spots on An Jianwen's body; these were acupoints that would keep An Jianwen from feeling pain while unconscious.

Wei Zhao was not sure whether there would be anesthetic when he got on the operating table for the transplant, or whether the anesthetic would be enough to keep An Jianwen unconscious and insensate. So, to be safe and ensure the transplant went smoothly, Wei Zhao simply took care of it himself.

Even if there was no anesthetic, it did not matter—An Jianwen would not wake up at all for the next few hours.
