Chapter 418 — I Really Don't Dare to Lay a Hand on Him

The Blossom Guardian

"You just wait! If you've got the guts, don't you run off!" Zou Tiandi gave a cold snort, then fished out his phone and started dialing. "Ruoguang, where are you? I'm right here in the North District, on Nantaijin Road. Somebody hit my car, and the little punk won't pay up — he even smashed my car with his fists to scare me... Good, I'll wait for you. Hurry up!"

Wei Zhao frowned. Since this fellow was set on making a scene, he might as well settle it. He too took out his phone and dialed Qiu Lingshan's number.

Qiu Lingshan was quite surprised to see Wei Zhao calling, thinking he had come up with a solution so quickly. She picked up with a note of delight: "Wei Zhao? You've thought of something?"

"No. Someone drove the wrong way and hit me. Come take a look..." Wei Zhao said flatly.

"Hit you? Are you all right?" Qiu Lingshan was briefly taken aback. She needed a favor from Wei Zhao right now; if anything happened to him, saving that person would be off the table.

"I'm fine. The other guy wants to extort me, and he's calling people over to scare me," Wei Zhao said.

"And you're coming to me with this? Can't you handle it yourself?" Hearing that, Qiu Lingshan was half annoyed, half amused. You're bothering me with something like this? Weren't you supposed to be so capable?

"Fine then. I'll smash his car and beat him up," Wei Zhao said.

"What?" Qiu Lingshan couldn't help but smile wryly. "All right, wait for me. I'm on my way..."

If Wei Zhao beat someone up and wrecked a car, he'd probably end up in a police station, and the trouble would likely land on her in the end. So Qiu Lingshan had no choice but to agree.

"Nantaijin Road." Wei Zhao smiled. "If your people get here after his do, I'll have no choice but to start throwing punches."

"All right, all right, I get it!" Qiu Lingshan snorted. Afraid Wei Zhao would go wild and drag her into trouble, she had no choice but to add: "Don't do anything rash — this brain-dead girl is on her way..."

"Heh, fine." Only now did Wei Zhao find that Qiu Lingshan had a lovable side too. This violent, brain-dead girl wasn't entirely without her merits.

"It's no use calling anyone. I'm telling you, you're done for today. If you don't cough up a hundred thousand yuan, you're not going anywhere!" Zou Tiandi jabbed a finger at Wei Zhao, threatening him.

This was his brand-new BMW, less than half a month old, and Wei Zhao had wrecked it — even the headlights were shattered. It broke his heart, so he had to make Wei Zhao pay a price before he'd be satisfied.

The roar of an engine rose, accompanied by thundering bass-heavy DJ music, as a motorcycle came flying over and stopped between the BMW and the van.

Zou Tiandi was delighted. His son had arrived — this car-wrecker was finished, no question about it!

"Dad, what's going on? Who hit you?" Zou Ruoguang jumped off the motorcycle and declared grandly: "Hit a car and refuse to pay? I'll kill him!"

"It's this little brat. Beat him up for me first, then smash his car, and make him fork over a hundred thousand yuan!" Zou Tiandi ordered, sneering and pointing at Wei Zhao.

Zou Tiandi was about to explode with rage. His shiny new BMW, with its cool license plate, had been ruined by this kid in a van. If he didn't teach him a lesson, the fury in his heart would never settle.

Besides, Zou Tiandi had been in a foul mood these past few days. He'd had his eye on a young girl at the company and was just about to have her when her boyfriend showed up and stuck his oar in, ruining everything.

"Who? You... huh?" Zou Ruoguang was about to put on a swaggering show and teach the van driver a lesson, but when he turned his head and saw Wei Zhao, he was dumbstruck.

Zou Ruoguang had sharper eyes than his old man. Zou Tiandi hadn't recognized Wei Zhao, but Zou Ruoguang knew him at a glance: "How... how is it you?"

Before Wei Zhao could answer, Zou Ruoguang hurriedly turned and took his father by the arm, pulling him aside and whispering: "Dad, why did you go and provoke him again? I can't dodge him fast enough, and now you've stirred him up — isn't that just asking for trouble?"

"Who? You know this kid?" Zou Tiandi was stunned. The several underlings who had come with Zou Ruoguang were stunned too, not understanding why he would say such a thing.

"He's the one who threw you out of the hospital room!" Zou Ruoguang said with a bitter smile. "Dad, just apologize to him and be done with it. Don't go looking for this trouble — this kid is no ordinary sort!"

"Apologize? How can I do that? I don't believe his two fists can beat four hands. You've got so many men with you — what are you afraid of him for?" Zou Tiandi frowned. He was a man of some standing, after all. To be hit on the street and then have to apologize to a snot-nosed kid — if word got out, where would his face be? How could he bear the shame?

"Then you find someone else, Dad. I still don't want to die!" Zou Ruoguang shook his head vigorously. Wei Zhao had left him psychologically scarred last time; he simply could not summon the will to oppose Wei Zhao.

"You're mud that won't stick to the wall!" Zou Tiandi snorted coldly. "Even your little brother has more guts than you. Next time I'll have your brother bring men to deal with this kid!"

"..." Zou Ruoguang lowered his head and said nothing. He truly did not dare raise a hand against Wei Zhao — not falsely, but truly — so no matter what Zou Tiandi said, he pretended not to hear.

"Useless!" Zou Tiandi was beside himself with anger. He was about to say more when the sound of a siren rose in the distance. A police car came racing up and screeched to a halt beside Zou Tiandi's BMW, its lights flashing.

Qiu Lingshan breathed a sigh of relief to see everyone present alive and well. She had rushed over running red lights the whole way, afraid Wei Zhao would cause her some kind of trouble. Luckily, it seemed he hadn't laid a hand on anyone.

"Everyone, back to the station with me!" Qiu Lingshan's heart had been in her throat the whole way, so her temper was short. She pointed at Zou Tiandi, Wei Zhao, and the rest.

Zou Tiandi hadn't expected a cop to suddenly show up, and he frowned. Nobody on his side had called the police — where had this officer come from? Just passing by? What a busybody!

"Look here, young comrade, I have friends in the police force too. There's nothing for you to do here — we can settle this ourselves!" Zou Tiandi waved a hand at Qiu Lingshan dismissively. In his eyes, she was young and a female officer besides, surely just an intern fresh out of school, so he didn't take her seriously at all.

She was pretty, and her figure was smoking hot... but Zou Tiandi wasn't foolish enough to harass a policewoman. He had no wish to eat prison food in a detention center.

"Are you coming or not?" Qiu Lingshan ignored what Zou Tiandi was saying and asked him directly.
